We needed a break!

Brandon has been working crazy hard over the past two months or so and we have so needed a break! This weekend couldn't come soon enough for us. We went to Zuma beach on Saturday with the Erickson's. We wore Seth and Paige out... evidence being his long nap today and blood shot eyes)

The water was cold, but the kids eventually went numb and it was fine:)

We were trying to teach the kids to hitch-hike and get a ride from the Sheriffs on 4-wheelers.

Emery slept most of the time, but while she was awake she got to kick around on the blanket! A true SoCal baby already!

May as well throw out the TV

After May Sweeps I am always so much more productive in the evenings! Brandon and I don't watch too much TV, but we definitely have our shows. Chuck, 30 Rock, Community, our primary one being LOST! Oh how we will miss you, island with unique electromagnetic properties. Now that the series has ended, I don't know what will hold my attention like that show did. I would look forward to it every Tuesday (used to be Wednesday) night. I would wait for Brandon to come home from his meetings or work and we would watch it together. While I was working I had a group of friends who also faithfully watched the show and we would sit together in the teacher's lounge talking about each episode! I've never mourned the end of a series before, until now:)

As for the ending, so many were upset about the unanswered questions. Brandon and I were satisfied with how they ended it, and kind of expected some of those questions to never be answered because the show focused more on the characters. Ben (the villain) and Hugo were our favorites to watch develop over the 6 years. I found the ending very moving (I won't spoil it for those who have not watched it). Like I said, this show really affected me and I dwelled on it every night after an episode. I wonder what new show will end up filling it's place?...tear!

Emery's Blessing

A few weeks ago we drove up to Northern California to bless Emery. My mom recently had back surgery, not to mention that most of our family lives up there. That made it the most logical place to do it. It was a great weekend. My grandma made Emery's blessing dress and it looked so sweet. It was a very dainty and light dress with a pink ribbon. My Aunt Sharon sent a sweet baby pearl bracelet to wear around her wrist, and a few nights before I made a pink crystal bracelet. This girl was as primped as you can get for a two month old:) I even had little silver shoes for her.

I felt so loved from the support shown by our family. We had so many people attend church with us, including my Uncle John, Grandma Janet, Mom and Randy. Meme flew out from Utah, Brandon's parents drove from Chico, Shae and Daren from Green Valley, my dad and family drove from Fairfield, Karlie was at our house bright and early, and Kristen came from San Luis Obispo. I felt loved and I am glad to be able to someday tell Emery about how many people love her and what a great family she comes from. It is support like this that help shape who she is and can add to a quiet confidence of knowing that she is loved.

Brandon's prayer for Emery included some wonderful blessings, including a sweet and happy disposition. I love this girl so much and think that she has already made our family happier. She is a happy and smily baby.
