One Year Photos...

Forgive me, but I have to play the mother card here...isn't he too cute:)  We took Seth's year photos (a month+ late).  

I will never take it for granted again!

After a month long of cooking out of an electric skillet, we finally got an oven.  Let me tell you, when a skillet, rice cooker and crock pot are all you have you really have to plan ahead in order to pull off a meal by dinner time.  When we moved into the place we weren't anticipating having to buy a new one, but it turns out that the owners didn't include it in the contract so they took it.  Grrr!  It took a while to get one for various reasons, but we finally have one.  I missed out on the holiday baking, but I'm sure my waistline will benefit from that misfortune.  No more boiling water in an electric skillet for pasta, forced crock pot meals, and pancakes from a griddle.  Hurray!

Scary Santa

At our ward party I decided to do what every parent wants to do to their kid: make them sit on santa's lap for a photo op.  Torture?  After looking at the hard evidence, I think that I tortured Seth.  He was terrified of Santa.  Granted, this Santa could scare even the bravest of kids.

Progress!!

It's been a while since I have posted.  I'll blame the fact that WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!  Who knew there were cute little brick houses with leaves that change colors in Los Angeles?  I love it! Even though plenty of things still need to be done, we have already made quite a few changes to the place.



PACKING/UNPACKING...that is enough to make you never want to move again!  Bye...little 710 sq ft. apt.  You've been good to us.  Can you believe I cried when I left it?

We...(I should say Chad, Brandon and Tom) ripped out a pony wall in order to open up the front room and dining room.  Ripping walls out after having the keys for less than 5 hours...that's how we roll around here:)

The final product really opened things up.  Thanks Chad for all your help!  We thought this was going to be a simple project, but long story short, we ended up replacing the hardwood and having to live on floor boards and tar paper for a little over a week.

I have to say, even though we weren't planning on replacing the floors, I sure do like the end product.  

It has been a nightmare choosing colors to go on our walls.  Brandon and I have conflicting taste in this dept.  We have used more paint samples than should ever be allowed.  We finally settled on a yellow and beige...mostly because we were tired of priming and painting.  All painting was done between the hours of 9pm and 2am while Seth was asleep.  Whew!  

Breakfast in the dining nook because of all the work in the dining room.  We sure love this dining nook.
