We took a weekend getaway with friends to San Diego. We stayed in a fabulous beach house, stayed up late, played games, went to Sea World, sat on a beach, and explored Old Town San Diego! It was a great trip. To be honest, it was also challenging with two fussy kids. Emery was cutting teeth and wasn't so happy. I am so grateful to good friends who like to go out and have fun...and then are patient with kids and all the unexpected that comes with the territory!
Sea world was great. I enjoyed the Sea Lion show the best. Shamu was a big pathetic after the recent attack that happened. In addition to entertainment, it was a culinary experience! We got the all you can eat meal plans which allowed you to eat at all the places there for one flat fee you pay up front, so we ate quite a bit of food. Toward the end of the night we gave Seth the dessert that he had been waiting for: chocolate pudding! He had it all over his face!
Aunt Kristen came, which saved me SO much. Emery wasn't feeling the greatest and was cutting teeth and was quite fussy. It was great to have an extra hand around!

We saw the Mormon Battalion visitors' center and I was quite impressed. They had a tour that was very entertaining, panning for gold, and other things.

Looks like a fun trip, although, as you said, probably painful when both kids are having a rough time. Fun pictures!
