My little Emery has been quite the center of attention wherever she goes with her bright green cast. Today was a big day. We woke up very early and headed to the orthopedist for x-rays and to remove her cast. The bone is healing great and she has been demonstrating that by her movement over the past few days. She started putting weight on her leg about 5 days ago and now can run pretty fast. She is our little pirate -you can hear her coming a mile away with her clod. She uses it to climb (to my horror) and has gotten very comfortable with it on her foot.
She got it cut off this morning. She was so brave when the saw turned on. Although she was shaking the whole time, she never once cried. She is much more ginger with her leg now that her protective cast is off. She limps and walks with a very stiff foot. She is always off balance and a little wobbly. This should improve as she gets stronger over the next month. I took her swimming and she was SO excited. Her face radiated pure joy as she splashed. She has been only able to watch Seth swim over the past month. I'm so happy for her, and proud of our brave little girl. She really is tough.

I got to chat with your mom while I was in Dixon and got a little update about your cute fam. Poor Emery. That must have been tough to watch. I'm glad she got her cast off and can start enjoying life again.
