Holiday Season

This has been the most busy holiday season of my life.  I actually felt like treading water for 3 months or so.  I enjoyed them completely, but next year I will simplify a bit, pick out our favorite traditions, pray that we are healthy and also keep my fingers crossed that Brandon is less busy at work than he was this year.
HALLOWEEN
Let me first start with our Halloween!  We had cookie decorating, costume contest, visitors 3 weeks in a row (AWESOME), made our own costumes, carved pumpkins, was in charge (along with Anita, Lacey and Shalice) of the Halloween Party and Primary Program, and it all culminated on Halloween Night with a pre-trick or treating party at our house with 30+ people.  All fun...so little sleep!
Both my kids helped clean out the pumpkin, and Seth designed the face of his.  Emery just made messes.

Seth came up with the idea to be an Angry Bird!  I made their costumes out of felt and was quite pleased!  Emery was the pig:)

And what a cute pig she was!  They should have won the costume contest at the Y, hands down!  Instead the prize was given to a store bought Woody!

What an Angry Bird

Nate and Brandon spent the remainder of the evening setting their pumpkins on fire!
THANKSGIVING

We made the trek home to Dixon to celebrate Thanksgiving.  We bought a car while there!
Even in Los Angeles we get some leaves on the ground (granted, I think ours is the only one on the block)

Their Thanksgiving/Fall Sunday best!  I love this dress Katie got for Emery!
 CHRISTMAS
Tree decorating, Christmas party, shopping, longest December ever for Brandon at work, Christmas shopping, dented my new car (terrible story that I can't quite bring myself to blog about yet:), and visited my mom where all 13 of us got the flu!  Night after night a new person was sick, including my 9 month pregnant sister.  Everyone was just waiting for it to get them.  We then went to Chico and checked into a hotel in order not to infect Brandon's side of the family as well.  Not my favorite Christmas!  I want a re-do!

NEW YEARS

All tired, and over sickness, we drove back to my mom's house, once again, and celebrated New Years.  We had a nice and easy New Year celebrated at 9 for Seth.  We had a wonderful time with family who I love being around, but here is to next year's holiday Season- may it be more restful!

hands down...a homemade costume always trumps a store bought one...especially one as cute as yours...though I will say I LOVED your Toy Story themed outfits from last year!!! Max has those batman PJ's...gotta love little boys!!! 30+ people? YOU rock!
